A stellar opportunity for emerging Nigerian artists

Applications are now open for the 2021 edition of the Access Bank ART X Prize, Nigeria’s leading award for emerging artists! Created to bolster the careers of emerging Nigerian artists who have demonstrated a commitment to working as professional visual artists, the Prize provides:

  • A N1.8 Million Naira Grant,

  • A Solo Presentation at ART X Lagos,

  • A Three-Month Residency at Gasworks, London and,

  • Ongoing mentorship and support.

Submissions will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of jurors: ruby onyinyechi amanze, Dexter Wimberly, Ndidi Dike, Ugoma Adegoke, Marie-Ann Yemsi, and Alessio Antoniolli, with curation by the renowned artist and performer, Wura-Natasha Ogunji.

Applicants are required to submit their portfolio of works along with their artist statements, in order to be considered for the Prize.

Eligibility Requirements 

At the time of the application, the Participant must:

  • be a practising visual artist of 3 years or more;

  • not currently be enrolled as a student; and

  • be a Nigerian citizen, living and working in Nigeria.
