In the coming weeks viewers will be able to view Berman Contemporary’s exhibitions virtually!

In the short time between the South African President Cyril Ramaphosa’s nation address, announcing the Nationwide Lock Down, Berman Contemporary started preparing for the virtual life of the gallery.

Due to COVID-19 & the temporary closing of their Johannesburg based gallery, Juan Stockenstroom’s exhibition was cancelled. If you may have missed the opportunity to view his exhibition, you can still have a virtual tour and walkabout with the artist here.

Berman Contemporary has also announced DuduBloom More like one of their new represented artists. More (b. 1990) is a visual artist from Soweto, Johannesburg. In 2018 she graduated from Artist Proof Studio and completed her 4th year in Professional Practice. She has been participating in various art competitions and her work has been shown at numerous group exhibitions and art fairs, including the FNB Art Joburg. In 2018, she was selected as one of two Artist Proof Studio women artists to be offered an artist’s residency in Italy through the Artist Proof Studio and the Italian Embassy. DuduBloom recently participated in the RMB Talent Unlocked Programme as well as the one-month Co-Create Residency with Cheriese Dilrajh, hosted by The Project Space. She is the winner of the 2019 Cassirer Welz Award, a 10-week residency hosted by The Bag Factory Artists’ Studios and Strauss & Co.
