Every year the FNB Joburg Art Fair holds a talks programme, through which we invite curators, artists, collectors and other interesting personalities from the art world to present talks to visitors.
All ticket holders are welcome to join us for these debates and presentations. This year our talks kick off on Friday 27th, with two round table discussions about curating African art in and beyond global cultural arenas. These are followed by talks by four artists who will be participating in this year’s Fair: David Goldblatt, Roger Ballen, Nandipha Mntambo and Mohau Modisakeng. We’re also excited to announce that Phaidon has decided to hold the Africa launch of the book, Art Cities of the Future, at the Fair, and have invited Zander Blom, Tracey Rose, Dineo Bopape, Minnette Vari and Temitayo Ogunbiyi to speak at this event. While we’re on the subject of books, don’t miss signings during the Fair by David Goldblatt, Santu Mofokeng, Roger Ballen and Ayana V Jackson.
