Taken from the essay by Hazel Friedman:

“Decades later his work still strikes me in that ineffable place where a laugh and a gasp coalesce…But let us return to a beginning of sorts…
Born in September 1949 in East London, South Africa, his œuvre spans painting, sculpture, printmaking and mixed media. Catherine’s prodigious career spans more than 40 years, and has straddled the most formative periods in South African contemporary art, from the 70s through the end of the last millennium and into the adolescence of this one. His nutrients have, at times, included the cultural equivalent of junk food: pop culture, comic books, cartoons, sci-fi movies, pulp fiction.”

“Incognito” shows from the 1st August 2013 until 30 September 2013
