snapped is an important quarterly photographic journal, dedicated to showcasing carefully selected photography from the African continent by leading and emerging photographers. Curated by a team united by their love for photographic images, snapped continues to focus on the realities and aspirations of people from the continent, with an additional focus to build on our existing global network between Africa, the Middle East and London.

Emphasising visual content over ‘techie’ reviews and scholarly ideas, each issue features themed portfolios, photo essays by outstanding photojournalists and in-depth interviews with selected photographers. Also included are artist’s profiles, exhibition reviews and our favourite photographic books.

Produced with the high standards associated with Bell-Roberts publications, this exciting special re-launch issue of snapped is made possible through a collaboration between Lauren and Pieter Badenhorst of PhotoHire and Suzette and Brendon Bell-Roberts from ARTsouthAFRICA magazine.

Look out for the snapped re-launch issue at selected outlets nationwide!

Highlights from the special re-launch issue include: a conversation with the legend, Sam Nzima; an interview Mohau Modisakeng and a profile of the LagosPhoto Festival 2014, ‘Staging Realities. Documenting Fiction.’
